A Poem for Forgetting
brought to you by the new moon in scorpio
I’ve decided 2026 is the year I get my writing published, and that means more writing and, scarily, more sharing of that writing. So here we are.
a poem for forgetting
the full moon pulls my tidal soul
eddies of tears and undercurrents of joy
mingle together under its soft glow
let my restless soul swell in the moon’s light
my waters draw back with its setting
leaving behind the shells of years past
tide pools teeming with all that’s been forgotten
let the lost things shimmer in the sunrise
Life Update
I’m back in the States now to spend the rest of the year and holidays with my family. There will be plenty of adjustments being made in the coming days and weeks, but right now I’m still struggling with the time change. So when I woke up at 5:30 this morning, I knew there was no sense in trying to get back to sleep. Instead, I opened my notes app and found a few old lines from 2022 that called to be fleshed out. The above poem emerged in the dark with just my phone screen’s glow and 4 quilts piled on top of me. (Adjusting to the temperatures of the Midwest will be a struggle for another day.)
Looking back now, this poem doesn’t resemble those first lines at all. But it did jog a memory of this old post, A Poem by the Full Moon in Scorpio. So I went back to read it again, and I have to say I love the coincidence of these two poems, both written under Moons in Scorpio, featuring tides. It’s just very fitting for these moon poems. And as I write this, I’m considering if this could become a series.
What’s Coming
I’m eager to get back into my creative practice, but it’s tough to find the time with my new schedule and the lack of sunlight. I brought minimal supplies with me, mostly just the materials needed for my big collage/poem WIP, currently named “when the air bites.” But I’m eager to dig into my mom’s craft supplies and play around with some smaller collage and/or projects. The theme for my upcoming creativity is going to be cozy and low effort. What’s your coziest hobby?
I just visited my very first Daiso store and it was so much fun! It’s a good thing there isn’t one in Portugal, because I can see that replacing my thrift store habit. I do have a little mini haul to share, so look for that soon!
Poetry Crumbs
Here are a few more little pieces of poetry I’ve been dropping in my notes and posts.
- prompt poem: Choose Your Own Adventure
A poem and accompanying collages, Spelunking
That said, if you’d like to support my art and writing, you can do so via my Ko-fi account. Thank you for being here and please consider tagging me if I’ve inspired you to make something. I’d love to see it!

Beautiful poem:
a poem for forgetting
I love the concept of writing poems based on the placement of the moon and stars ^_^
